Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Abdulla Yameen

Abdulla Yameen, born on May twenty-first, nineteen fifty-nine, is a prominent Maldivian politician who held the office of president from two thousand thirteen to two thousand eighteen. He emerged victorious in the presidential election of two thousand thirteen as the candidate of the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM), defeating the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) leader and former president Mohamed Nasheed in a re-run of the election after the initial results were annulled.

During his presidency, Yameen's administration was marked by significant infrastructure development, including the construction of airports and healthcare facilities. These projects were largely financed through loans from the Chinese government, reflecting a strategic partnership that shaped his tenure. However, his time in office was also overshadowed by serious allegations of human rights violations and corruption.

Yameen's presidency came to an end on November seventeenth, two thousand eighteen, when he was defeated in the presidential election by Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. Following his exit from the political arena, he faced legal challenges, being charged with corruption and money laundering related to the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation scandal. Ultimately, he was sentenced to eleven years in prison but has since been released.
