Butigeidis

Butigeidis, born in the year twelve forty, emerged as a significant figure in the history of Lithuania. He ascended to the throne as Grand Duke following the death of Daumantas, marking a pivotal moment in the region's leadership.

His reign, which lasted from one thousand two hundred eighty-five to one thousand two hundred ninety or one thousand two hundred ninety-one, positioned him as the first known and undisputed member of the Gediminid dynasty. This dynasty would go on to play a crucial role in the development of Lithuania.
