Charles Koch

Charles Koch, born on November 1, 1935, is a prominent American businessman, engineer, and philanthropist. He has been at the helm of Koch Industries since 1967, serving as co-owner, chairman, and chief executive officer. Under his leadership, the company has grown to become the largest privately held firm by revenue in the United States, a testament to his business acumen and strategic vision.

Alongside his late brother David Koch, who held the position of executive vice president, Charles inherited the family business from their father, Fred C. Koch. The brothers each owned forty-two percent of the conglomerate, which they expanded significantly over the years, solidifying their status in the business world.

In addition to his business endeavors, Koch is known for his philanthropic efforts and support of libertarian think tanks, including the Institute for Humane Studies, the Cato Institute, the Ayn Rand Institute, and the Mercatus Center at George Mason University.
