Christina Petrowska-Quilico

Christina Petrowska-Quilico, born on December thirtieth, nineteen forty-eight, is a distinguished Canadian pianist renowned for her contributions to both classical and contemporary music. As a professor emerita and senior scholar at York University in Toronto, she has dedicated her career to the advancement of music education and the promotion of Canadian composers.

In recognition of her celebrated career, Petrowska-Quilico was appointed to the Order of Canada in two thousand twenty, honoring her efforts in championing Canadian music. The following year, she was named a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, further solidifying her status as a leading figure in the music community.

Her accolades continued in two thousand twenty-two when she received the Order of Ontario, acknowledging her ability to captivate audiences worldwide through her numerous performances. As a benefactor, she established The Christina and Louis Quilico Award at the Ontario Arts Foundation and the Canadian Opera Company, demonstrating her commitment to nurturing future talent.
