Elizabeth McGovern

Elizabeth McGovern, born on July 18, 1961, in Evanston, Illinois, is a celebrated American actress and singer-songwriter. She spent much of her formative years in Los Angeles, where her passion for the performing arts flourished. After honing her craft at the American Conservatory Theater and the prestigious Juilliard School, McGovern made her mark in the film industry with her debut in the critically acclaimed Ordinary People in 1980.

Her breakout role came in 1981 when she portrayed Evelyn Nesbit in the film adaptation of Ragtime, earning her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
