Fortún Garcés of Pamplona

Fortún Garcés of Pamplona, known by the monikers el Tuerto and el Monje, was a significant figure in the history of the region, reigning as king from approximately eight hundred seventy to nine hundred five. His lineage traced back to the esteemed Íñigo Arista, the inaugural king of Pamplona, making him the eldest son of García Iñíguez.

His reign, lasting nearly three decades, marked the end of the Íñiguez dynasty, a pivotal moment in the political landscape of the time. Fortún's rule was characterized by the challenges and complexities of leadership during a period of significant change.
