French Montana

Karim Kharbouch, known to the world as French Montana, was born on November ninth, nineteen eighty-four, in Morocco. At the age of thirteen, he and his family immigrated to New York City, where he began to carve out his identity in the music scene as a battle rapper under the moniker Young French. His early career was marked by his role as the host of the DVD series Cocaine City, which showcased interviews with prominent hip hop figures and helped him gain local recognition.

In two thousand twelve, French Montana signed a significant deal with Sean Combs's Bad Boy Records and Rick Ross's Maybach Music Group, in collaboration with Interscope Records. His debut studio album, Excuse My French, released in two thousand thirteen, peaked at number four on the Billboard 200, despite receiving mixed reviews. The album's lead single, 'Pop That,' featuring Rick Ross, Drake, and Lil Wayne, made its way into the top forty of the Billboard Hot 100.

Montana's career took a notable turn with the release of his single 'Unforgettable' in two thousand seventeen, which featured Swae Lee and reached the top ten on the charts, earning diamond certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. This success was followed by his second studio album, Jungle Rules, which peaked at number three on the Billboard 200 and was met with a more favorable critical reception.

In addition to his musical achievements, Kharbouch founded Coke Boys Records in two thousand eight, which has signed various artists, including Chicago rapper Lil Durk and New York talents like Velous and Chinx. He holds the distinction of being the most streamed African-born musical artist and the first African-born artist to achieve a diamond-certified song. In two thousand twenty-four, 'Unforgettable' became the most-streamed song from New York. Beyond his music career, French Montana is also known for his charitable and philanthropic efforts.
