Grace Mugabe

Grace Mugabe, born on July twenty-third, nineteen sixty-five, is a prominent Zimbabwean politician and entrepreneur, best known as the widow of the late President Robert Mugabe. Her journey began as a secretary to Mugabe, which paved the way for her ascent within the ruling ZANU–PF party. Over the years, she became a significant figure, leading the party's Women's League and playing a crucial role in the Generation 40 faction.

During her tenure as First Lady from nineteen ninety-six until her husband's resignation in November two thousand seventeen, Grace garnered a reputation for her lavish lifestyle amidst the country's economic challenges. This extravagance earned her the nickname 'Gucci Grace,' reflecting her affinity for luxury during a time of widespread hardship.

Grace's political career took a dramatic turn during the coup d'état in two thousand seventeen, which resulted in her expulsion from the ZANU–PF party alongside other G40 members. Despite the controversies surrounding her, she was recognized as one of the Top One Hundred most influential Africans by New African magazine in two thousand fourteen, highlighting her impact on the continent.
