Hōjō Yoshitoki

Hōjō Yoshitoki, born in the year one thousand one hundred sixty-three, was a prominent samurai and statesperson who played a pivotal role in the governance of the Kamakura shogunate. As the second son of Hōjō Tokimasa, he inherited a legacy of leadership that would shape the political landscape of Japan during his time.

Ascending to the position of shikken, or regent, in the year twelve hundred five following his father's abdication, Yoshitoki's tenure lasted until his death in the year twelve hundred twenty-four.
