Huáscar

Huáscar, born in 1490, was a prominent figure in the history of the Inca Empire, serving as Sapa Inca from 1527 until 1532. He ascended to the throne following the deaths of his father, Huayna Capac, and his brother, Ninan Cuyochi, both of whom succumbed to smallpox during a military campaign near Quito.

During his reign, Huáscar faced significant challenges, most notably the civil war against his half-brother Atahualpa. This conflict, which spanned from 1529 to 1532, was marked by fierce battles for control of the empire, ultimately leading to Huáscar's capture.

Tragically, Huáscar's fate was sealed shortly after his capture when Atahualpa himself was taken prisoner by the Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro. In a turn of events that underscored the tumultuous nature of the era, Huáscar was executed shortly thereafter, marking a significant moment in the decline of the Inca Empire.
