Ilwad Elman is a prominent Somali-Canadian social activist dedicated to advancing human rights and peace in Somalia. Born in 1990, she has emerged as a leading figure in the fight for justice and equality, particularly through her work at the Elman Peace and Human Rights Center in Mogadishu.
At the Elman Center, Ilwad collaborates closely with her mother, Fartuun Adan, who founded the NGO. Together, they strive to create a safer and more equitable society for all, focusing on issues such as gender equality and the protection of human rights.
