Inayatullah Khan

Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Inayatullah Khan

Inayatullah Khan, born on October twentieth, eighteen eighty-eight, was a monarch who briefly held the title of King of Afghanistan for a mere three days in January nineteen twenty-nine. He was the son of the former Afghan Emir, Habibullah Khan, and hailed from a prominent Pashtun family.

His short reign began in the early hours of January fourteenth, nineteen twenty-nine, when Amanullah Khan, the sitting king, handed over the throne to his brother Inayatullah in a desperate attempt to escape Kabul. Amanullah's flight was pursued by Habibullah Kalakani and his followers, but he managed to evade capture.

With Amanullah gone, Kalakani issued an ultimatum to Inayatullah, demanding either surrender or preparation for war. Inayatullah, expressing his reluctance for kingship, chose to abdicate and proclaimed Kalakani as king on January seventeenth, nineteen twenty-nine. Following his abdication, he was airlifted out of Kabul by the Royal Air Force, marking the end of his brief rule.

Inayatullah spent the remainder of his life in exile, primarily in Iran. During the Afghan Civil War, rumors circulated in Kabul regarding currency bearing his name being used by anti-Kalakani forces, suggesting a potential resurgence in his claim to the throne. However, these rumors quickly faded, and Inayatullah remained in Iran until his death in Tehran in nineteen forty-six.
