Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Jeb Bush

Jeb Bush, born on February 11, 1953, in Midland, Texas, is a prominent American politician and businessman. He is the second son of former president George H. W. Bush and former first lady Barbara Bush, and the younger brother of former president George W. Bush. After graduating from Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, he attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a degree in Latin American affairs.

In 1980, Bush relocated to Florida, embarking on a career in real estate development. His political journey began in 1987 when he was appointed Florida's secretary of commerce, a position he held until 1988. Following this, he joined his father's successful presidential campaign. Bush's first attempt at public office came in 1994 when he ran for governor but lost to incumbent Lawton Chiles by a narrow margin.

Undeterred, Bush ran again in 1998, defeating lieutenant governor Buddy MacKay with fifty-five percent of the vote. He became Florida's first two-term Republican governor after winning reelection in 2002 against Bill McBride with fifty-six percent. During his tenure from 1999 to 2007, he championed significant initiatives, including an ambitious Everglades conservation plan, medical malpractice litigation caps, and reforms in the education system that promoted school choice and the issuance of vouchers.

In June 2015, Bush announced his candidacy for the presidency. However, he suspended his campaign on February 20, 2016, after finishing sixth in the South Carolina primary. Throughout the campaign, he was critical of Donald Trump and later endorsed Senator Ted Cruz in March 2016, maintaining his stance during Trump's presidency.
