Marilyn Hacker

Marilyn Hacker, born on November twenty-seventh, nineteen forty-two, is a distinguished American poet, translator, and critic. She has made significant contributions to literature as a professor of English emerita at the City College of New York, where she has inspired countless students with her passion for language and poetry.

Her literary journey includes a remarkable array of poetry collections, starting with 'Presentation Piece' in nineteen seventy-four, which earned her the prestigious National Book Award. Subsequent works, such as 'Love, Death, and the Changing of the Seasons' in nineteen eighty-six and 'Going Back to the River' in nineteen ninety, further solidified her reputation as a leading voice in contemporary poetry.
