Mick Schumacher, born on March 22, 1999, is a talented German racing driver who has made significant strides in the world of motorsport. Raised in Switzerland, he is the son of the legendary seven-time Formula One World Champion Michael Schumacher and equestrian Corinna Betsch. With a rich family legacy in racing, including his uncle Ralf Schumacher and cousin David, Mick's journey in motorsport began at a young age.
Initially competing under the pseudonyms Mick Betsch and Mick Junior, Schumacher showcased his potential by finishing as the runner-up in both the junior World and European Championships in 2014. He graduated to junior formulae in 2015, where he continued to impress, finishing second in both the ADAC F4 and Italian F4 championships the following year. His talent shone through in the FIA European Formula 3, where he clinched the championship title with Prema in 2018, and he went on to win the FIA Formula 2 title in 2020.
Joining the Ferrari Driver Academy in 2019, Schumacher transitioned to Formula One in 2021 with Haas, making his debut at the Bahrain Grand Prix. Despite a challenging start with the VF-21, he achieved a season-best twelfth place in Hungary. In 2022, he scored his first points at the British Grand Prix and secured a career-best sixth at the Austrian Grand Prix. However, after a series of crashes, he parted ways with Haas at the end of the season.
In 2023, Schumacher took on the role of reserve driver for both Mercedes and McLaren before moving to the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2024 with Alpine. He celebrated his first podium finish at the 6 Hours of Fuji and continued to excel with further podiums at the 6 Hours of Imola and Spa-Francorchamps in 2025. As of 2026, he has embarked on a new chapter in the IndyCar Series, driving the No. 47 Dallara–Honda for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing.
