Nikolai Burlyayev

Nikolai Burlyayev, born on August third, nineteen forty-six, in Moscow, is a distinguished Soviet and Russian actor, film director, and politician. Coming from a family of actors, he was immersed in the world of performance from a young age, which laid the foundation for his illustrious career in film and theatre.

Burlyayev gained widespread recognition for his remarkable portrayal of the title character in Andrei Tarkovsky's acclaimed film, Ivan's Childhood. This role not only showcased his exceptional talent but also established him as a prominent figure in the cinematic landscape. Four years later, he collaborated with Tarkovsky once again, this time as Boriska in the historical epic Andrei Rublev, further solidifying his reputation as a versatile actor.
