Peroz III

Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Peroz III

Peroz III, born in the year six hundred thirty-six, was the son of Yazdegerd III, the last King of Kings of Sasanian Iran. Following the tragic death of his father, who was reportedly killed by a miller under the influence of the governor of Merv, Peroz found himself in a precarious position. To escape the turmoil of his homeland, he sought refuge in Tang China.

In Tang China, Peroz III did not remain idle. He rose to prominence by serving as a general in the Tang military. His leadership and skills were recognized, leading to his appointment as the Governor of Persia. This role was significant as it represented an extension of the Sasanian court, which had been established in exile and operated under the suzerainty of the Tang dynasty.

Much of what is known about Peroz III is derived from historical texts, notably the Old Book of Tang and the New Book of Tang. These accounts provide valuable insights into his life and the challenges he faced as a monarch in exile, navigating the complexities of power and identity in a foreign land.
