Rahul Gandhi

Rahul Gandhi, born on June nineteenth, nineteen seventy, is a prominent Indian politician and a key figure in the Indian National Congress (INC). He currently serves as the twelfth leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and represents the Rae Bareli constituency in Uttar Pradesh, a position he has held since June twenty twenty-four. Prior to this, he represented Wayanad in Kerala from two thousand nineteen to two thousand twenty-four and Amethi in Uttar Pradesh from two thousand four to two thousand nineteen.

Coming from the illustrious Nehru–Gandhi political family, Gandhi spent his formative years between Delhi and Dehradun, largely away from the public eye. His early education took place in New Delhi and at The Doon School, but due to security concerns, he was later home-schooled. He began his undergraduate studies at St. Stephen's College before transferring to Harvard University. Following the tragic assassination of his father, he moved to Rollins College in Florida, where he completed his degree in nineteen ninety-four.

After obtaining an M.Phil. from Cambridge, Gandhi embarked on a professional journey with the Monitor Group, a management consulting firm in London. He soon returned to India, where he established a technology outsourcing firm in Mumbai. His political career began in the two thousand, during which he led the Indian Youth Congress and the National Students Union of India, while also serving as a trustee of the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation and the Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust.

Gandhi led the Congress party through the challenging general elections of two thousand fourteen and two thousand nineteen, where the party faced significant setbacks, securing forty-four and fifty-two seats, respectively. However, ahead of the two thousand twenty-four Indian general elections, he spearheaded the Bharat Jodo Yatra and the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which played a crucial role in the INC winning ninety-nine seats and reclaiming the status of Official Opposition for the first time in a decade.
