Russ Tamblyn

Russell Irving Tamblyn, known affectionately as Rusty Tamblyn, was born on December 30, 1934, in Los Angeles, California. From a young age, he exhibited a passion for performance, training as a gymnast before transitioning into the world of acting. His career took off as a child actor with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, where he quickly made a name for himself.

One of Tamblyn's most notable early roles was in the beloved musical 'Seven Brides for Seven Brothers' in nineteen fifty-four. He gained further acclaim for his portrayal of Norman Page in the groundbreaking drama 'Peyton Place' in nineteen fifty-seven, a performance that earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. His talent shone brightly again in nineteen sixty-one when he took on the iconic role of Riff, the leader of the Jets gang, in the classic film 'West Side Story.'

Throughout the nineteen seventies, Tamblyn ventured into the realm of exploitation films, showcasing his versatility as an actor. The following decade saw him expand his skill set as a choreographer, contributing to various productions. In nineteen ninety, he made a memorable return to television as Dr. Lawrence Jacoby in David Lynch's cult classic 'Twin Peaks,' a role he reprised in the show's revival in twenty seventeen, further solidifying his status in the entertainment industry.
