Her musical journey began with EMI music records, where she released several EPs, including 'Dendang Saloma' in 1957, 'Bunga Negara' in 1963, and 'Aslirama' in 1972. Among her most cherished songs are 'Selamat Pengantin Baru' and 'Bila Larut Malam', which continue to resonate with fans of her timeless music.
In addition to her singing career, Saloma made significant contributions to film, starring in notable movies such as 'Azimat' and 'Kaki Kuda', both released in 1958. Her acting prowess shone in films like 'Seniman Bujang Lapok' in 1961, where she played Cik Salmah, and 'Ahmad Albab' in 1968 as Mastura.
Saloma's impact on the music industry was recognized when she was awarded the title of Biduana Pertama Negara in 1978, honoring her as the First National Songbird of Malaysia.
