Sami Frashëri

Sami Frashëri, also known as Şemseddin Sâmi, was a multifaceted Turkish-Albanian writer, philosopher, and playwright born on June first, eighteen fifty. He emerged as a significant figure during the Albanian National Awakening, alongside his brothers Abdyl and Naim, contributing to the cultural and political landscape of Albania.

Born into a family of modest means in Frashër, a district in Përmet, Frashëri made his mark in Ottoman literature under the pseudonym Şemseddin Sami Efendi. His literary prowess was instrumental in the Ottoman Turkish language reforms, showcasing his commitment to linguistic and cultural development.
