Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Shaykh Junayd

Shaykh Junayd, born in the year one thousand four hundred twenty-nine, was a prominent theologian and ruler who played a pivotal role in the history of the Safavid order. As the hereditary leader of this influential Sufi order, he was deeply rooted in the spiritual and political landscape of Ardabil, located in northwestern Iran.

He was the son of Shaykh Ibrahim and the grandson of Khvajeh Ali Safavi, continuing a legacy that would shape the future of the region. Junayd was not only a spiritual leader but also a father to Shaykh Haydar and a grandfather to Shah Ismail I, the founder of the illustrious Safavid dynasty.

Following the death of his father in one thousand four hundred forty-seven, Junayd took the reins of the Safavid order, leading it until one thousand four hundred sixty. During his leadership, he transformed the order from a purely spiritual entity into a formidable military movement, driven by the ambition to establish his own principality through conquest.
