Siemomysł

Siemomysł, born in the year nine hundred twenty-two, was a pivotal figure in the early history of Poland, serving as the third duke of the Polans. His lineage traces back to the esteemed Piast dynasty, and he is recognized as the son of Lestek, the second known duke of the Polans, as documented by the chronicler Gallus Anonymous in his work, Gesta principum Polonorum.

As a monarch, Siemomysł played a crucial role in shaping the future of the Polish territories. He is particularly noted for bequeathing the lands of the Polans, Goplans, and Masovians to his son, Mieszko I. This inheritance laid the groundwork for Mieszko's subsequent expansion of these territories during his reign, marking a significant era in Polish history.
