Wanjira Mathai

Wanjira Mathai, born in December nineteen seventy-one, is a prominent Kenyan environmentalist and activist dedicated to addressing critical global challenges. As the Managing Director for Africa and Global Partnerships at the World Resources Institute, she is based in Nairobi, Kenya, where she tackles pressing issues such as deforestation and energy access.

Her impactful work has garnered significant recognition, including being named one of the one hundred Most Influential Africans by New African magazine in two thousand eighteen. This accolade highlights her contributions as a senior advisor at the World Resources Institute and her commitment to environmental sustainability.
