Zheng Siwei, born on February 26, 1997, is a distinguished Chinese badminton player renowned for his exceptional skills in doubles. He has made a significant mark in the sport as an Olympic gold medalist and a three-time World Champion, particularly in mixed doubles alongside his partner Huang Yaqiong. Zheng's contributions to the national team have been pivotal, helping secure victories in the 2018 Thomas Cup and the Sudirman Cups in 2019 and 2023.
Joining the national team in 2013, Zheng quickly rose through the ranks, showcasing his talent in junior competitions. He amassed an impressive collection of four gold medals, a silver, and a bronze at the World Junior Championships, along with six golds and a silver at the Asian Junior Championships between 2013 and 2015. His remarkable achievements earned him the prestigious Eddy Choong Most Promising Player of the Year award from the BWF in 2015.
In December 2016, Zheng achieved a significant milestone by reaching the world number one ranking in mixed doubles while partnering with Chen Qingchen. Together, they reached thirteen Superseries finals, clinching the Dubai World Superseries Finals in both 2016 and 2017, and secured a silver medal at the 2017 World Championships. In November 2017, he formed a new partnership with Huang Yaqiong, quickly finding success by winning consecutive titles at the China, Hong Kong, and Macau Open.
By August 9, 2018, Zheng once again ascended to the mixed doubles world number one ranking, achieving seven titles on the 2018 World Tour and earning gold medals at both the World Championships and the Asian Games.
