Ricardo Valdez Valentine Jr., known to the world as 6lack, is an influential American R&B singer and songwriter born on June 24, 1992, in Baltimore, Maryland. Raised in Atlanta, Georgia, he emerged onto the music scene with his breakout single 'Prblms' in 2016, which marked his first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 and set the stage for his burgeoning career.

In the same year, 6lack released his debut studio album, 'Free 6lack', under Love Renaissance, an imprint of Interscope Records. The album garnered critical acclaim, earning a nomination for Best Urban Contemporary Album at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards and achieving platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

His sophomore album, 'East Atlanta Love Letter', released in 2018, peaked at number three on the Billboard 200.
