Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of A. J. Allmendinger

Anthony James Allmendinger, known affectionately as "the Dinger," is a prominent figure in American stock car racing, born on December 16, 1981. Currently, he competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series, piloting the No. 16 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Kaulig Racing. In addition to his Cup Series commitments, Allmendinger also races part-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, where he drives the No. 10 Ram 1500 for the same team.

Allmendinger's journey in professional racing began on the American open-wheel circuit, where he showcased his talent by securing five wins and finishing third overall in the 2006 Champ Car season. His transition to NASCAR saw him take the wheel for Team Red Bull, followed by stints with notable teams such as Richard Petty Motorsports, Penske Racing, Phoenix Racing, and JTG Daugherty Racing in the Cup Series.

After losing his full-time ride with JTG Daugherty Racing in 2019 to Ryan Preece, Allmendinger shifted gears to become a part-time driver for Kaulig in the Xfinity Series. He also embraced a new role as a television broadcaster for NBC, where he served as a color commentator for IMSA races and an analyst on NASCAR America until his return to full-time driving in 2021.

In addition to his NASCAR endeavors, Allmendinger has made a name for himself in endurance racing, competing in the prestigious 24 Hours of Daytona for Michael Shank's team almost every year from 2006 to 2021, with the exception of 2017. His crowning achievement in this arena came in 2012 when he triumphed in the event, further solidifying his reputation as a versatile and skilled driver.
