AB de Villiers, born on February 17, 1984, is a celebrated former international cricketer from South Africa, widely regarded as one of the greatest batters of his generation. His illustrious career spanned fifteen years, during which he was honored as the ICC ODI Player of the Year on three occasions. In 2019, he was recognized as one of the five Wisden cricketers of the decade, a testament to his remarkable impact on the sport.

De Villiers made his international debut in a Test match against England in 2004, followed by his first One Day International appearance in early 2005 and his entry into Twenty20 International cricket in 2006. Known for his innovative and destructive batting style, he has scored over eight thousand runs in both Test and ODI formats, boasting a batting average exceeding fifty in each.
