Olve Eikemo, born on June 27, 1973, is a prominent figure in the Norwegian music scene, widely recognized by his stage name Abbath Doom Occulta or simply Abbath. He is celebrated as a founding member of the influential black metal band Immortal, which has left an indelible mark on the genre.
Before his groundbreaking work with Immortal, Abbath honed his musical skills with Old Funeral, where he collaborated with future Immortal member Demonaz. This early experience laid the foundation for his distinctive style and approach to music.
In 2015, Abbath made the significant decision to depart from Immortal, subsequently announcing the formation of a new band under his own name. While he is primarily known as a guitarist, Abbath's versatility shines through as he is also an accomplished bassist and drummer. Notably, he recorded all the drums for Immortal's albums 'Pure Holocaust' and 'Battles in the North', showcasing his multi-instrumental talents.
