Abd al-Aziz ibn Musa

Abd al-Aziz ibn Musa, born in the year six hundred eighty-five, was a prominent Arab general and the inaugural governor of Al-Andalus, a region that encompasses present-day Spain and Portugal. He was the son of Musa ibn Nusayr, who served as the Umayyad governor of Ifriqiya, and this lineage set the stage for Abd al-Aziz's significant role in the early Islamic conquests.
