Abe no Seimei

Abe no Seimei, born on February twenty-sixth in the year nine hundred twenty-one, was a distinguished onmyōji during the Heian period of Japan. Renowned for his expertise in Onmyōdō, he served as a court official, providing spiritual guidance to emperors and the government. His role involved advising on matters of great importance, ensuring that decisions were aligned with the spiritual and astrological realms.

Seimei's influence extended beyond the court; he was also a skilled astrologer, known for his ability to predict celestial events. His long life, which spanned eighty-four years, was marked by good health, leading many to believe in his mystical abilities. In recognition of his contributions, the Seimei Shrine in Kyoto stands as a testament to his legacy. Additionally, the Abeno train station and district in Osaka are named in his honor, as they are believed to be among the locations of his birth.
