Abel Muzorewa

Abel Tendekayi Muzorewa, born on April 14, 1925, was a prominent Zimbabwean bishop and politician, widely recognized for his role in the country's tumultuous history. As a leader of the United Methodist Church, he dedicated his life to both spiritual guidance and national service, becoming a significant figure in the fight for Zimbabwe's independence.

In 1979, Muzorewa made history by becoming the first and only Prime Minister of Zimbabwe Rhodesia, a position he held during a critical period marked by the Internal Settlement and the Lancaster House Agreement. His tenure, although brief, was pivotal in shaping the political landscape of Zimbabwe as the nation transitioned towards independence.

Beyond his political career, Muzorewa was also an accomplished autobiographer and missionary, sharing his experiences and insights through his writings. His contributions to both religion and politics have left a lasting impact on Zimbabwean society.
