Achille Devéria

Achille Devéria, born on February sixth, eighteen hundred, was a distinguished French painter and lithographer celebrated for his captivating portraits of renowned writers and artists. His artistic prowess extended beyond painting, as he was also a skilled graphic artist, draftsperson, illustrator, printmaker, curator, and watercolorist.

Devéria's legacy is further enriched by his familial connections; he was the younger brother of the Romantic painter Eugène Devéria. This artistic lineage continued with his children, notably Théodule Devéria and Gabriel Devéria, who also made their mark in the art world.
