Adam McKay

Adam McKay, born on April 17, 1968, is a multifaceted American filmmaker known for his work as a director, screenwriter, producer, and actor. He began his illustrious career as the head writer for the iconic NBC sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live (SNL), where he honed his comedic skills from 1995 to 2001.

Following his tenure at SNL, McKay formed a dynamic partnership with comedian Will Ferrell, collaborating on a series of beloved comedy films including Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004), Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (2006), and The Other Guys (2010). Their creative synergy extended beyond film, as they co-produced various television series and the popular website Funny or Die through their company, Gary Sanchez Productions.

In addition to his work with Ferrell, McKay has made a significant mark in the realm of satirical filmmaking. He wrote and directed critically acclaimed films such as The Big Short (2015), Vice (2018), and Don't Look Up (2021).
