Adham Sharara

Adham Sharara, born on March twenty-four, nineteen fifty-three, in Cairo, is a distinguished Canadian table tennis player and sports official. His journey in the world of table tennis has been marked by significant contributions, particularly in leadership roles that have shaped the sport on a global scale.

Sharara's most notable achievement came when he was appointed as the Chairman and Honorary President of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) in nineteen ninety-nine, succeeding Xu Yinsheng. Under his guidance, the ITTF saw numerous advancements and initiatives aimed at promoting table tennis worldwide.

After a successful tenure, he retired from his position as ITTF President in two thousand fourteen, passing the baton to Thomas Weikert, the Deputy President from Germany. His legacy continues to influence the sport, inspiring future generations of players and officials alike.
