Adina Pintilie

Adina Pintilie, born on January twelfth, nineteen eighty, is a distinguished Romanian film director, screenwriter, and painter. Renowned for her innovative approach to storytelling, she has dedicated over a decade to exploring themes of intimacy, body politics, and the aesthetics of moving image creation. Her work spans various platforms, including performance art, cinema, and virtual reality, and is characterized by long-term collaborations and interdisciplinary research.

Pintilie's feature-length debut, Touch Me Not, garnered significant acclaim, winning the prestigious Golden Bear at the sixty-eighth Berlin International Film Festival. Additionally, it received the GFWW Award for Best First Feature at Berlinale two thousand eighteen and was nominated for the European Film Award in the same year. This remarkable achievement solidified her reputation as a pioneering voice in contemporary cinema.

In addition to her directorial accomplishments, Adina Pintilie co-founded MANEKINO FILM, an independent production company based in Bucharest, further contributing to the landscape of Romanian cinema.
