As a Portuguese and Canadian creative, she has made significant contributions to the world of visual poetry since 1999, merging various disciplines such as writing, design, sound editing, and filmmaking through innovative new media techniques.
Her visual poems have gained recognition at prestigious American festivals, including Flashbang! and Flashbang 4 in 2001 and 2002, as well as The ME.Project in 2002, which showcased her work in major cities like Toronto, New York, and Los Angeles. De Barros's artistic endeavors have been featured in numerous art and poetry books, as well as on various websites, highlighting her commitment to making poetry more dynamic and accessible to a broader audience.
In her pursuit of creativity, de Barros operates her own studio, Breathewords, where she designs and illustrates captivating works.
