Adriane Lopes

Adriane Lopes, born on June 26, 1976, in Grandes Rios, Paraná, Brazil, is a prominent Brazilian politician and advocate. She has made history as the first woman to serve as the Mayor of Campo Grande, a position she assumed in April 2022 after the resignation of her predecessor, Marquinhos Trad. Lopes was reelected in 2024, solidifying her role as a trailblazer in the city's political landscape.

With a diverse background that includes law, theology, and entrepreneurship, Lopes has built a multifaceted career. She holds a law degree and has received training in theology, alongside her graduation from the Brazilian Coaching Institute. Before her political journey, she worked as a public security agent, which laid the groundwork for her commitment to public safety and community development.

During her tenure as mayor, Lopes has focused on key issues such as public security, housing development, family farming, and social development. Her leadership has been characterized by a dedication to improving the lives of her constituents. In February 2025, she is set to become the highest-paid mayor in Brazil, with a salary increase from twenty-one thousand two hundred sixty-three reais and sixty-two cents to forty-one thousand eight hundred forty-five reais and forty-eight cents, following a significant raise approved by the Campo Grande City Council.

Adriane Lopes has been affiliated with the Progressistas party since 2023, previously being a member of the Patriota party. Her journey in politics began as the vice-mayor of Campo Grande in 2017, where she served until her historic ascension to the mayoralty.
