Aga Khan III

Sir Sultan Muhammad Shah, born on November second, eighteen seventy-seven, is renowned as Aga Khan III, the forty-eighth imam of the Nizari Ism'aili branch of Shia Islam. His leadership extended beyond spiritual guidance; he played a pivotal role in the political landscape of British India, advocating for the rights and advancement of Muslims during a time of significant social and political change.

Aga Khan III is celebrated as one of the founding fathers of Pakistan. His influence was particularly felt as the first permanent president of the All-India Muslim League (AIML), an organization that, until the late nineteen thirties, represented the interests of landed and commercial Muslims while promoting British education. His vision for a distinct political and cultural identity for Muslims in India laid the groundwork for the two-nation theory, which would later shape the subcontinent's history.

Even after stepping down as president of the AIML in nineteen twelve, Aga Khan III continued to wield considerable influence over its policies and direction. His commitment to Muslim rights and representation was further recognized when he was nominated to represent India at the League of Nations in nineteen thirty-two, culminating in his role as President of the eighteenth Assembly of the League of Nations from nineteen thirty-seven to nineteen thirty-eight.
