Aga Khan V

Shah Rahim al-Hussaini, born on October 12, 1971, is recognized as Aga Khan V, the 50th Imam of the Nizari Isma'ili Shia Islam. He ascended to this esteemed position in 2025, following the passing of his father, Shah Karim al-Hussaini, known as Aga Khan IV. This transition marked a significant moment in the history of the Nizari community, as Aga Khan V became the fifth individual in his family to hold the title of Aga Khan.

As a philanthropist and entrepreneur, Aga Khan V has inherited not only the spiritual leadership of the Nizari Isma'ili community but also a substantial estate, which was valued at over thirteen billion dollars by Vanity Fair in 2013. His role as Imam encompasses a commitment to social development and community welfare, reflecting the values of his predecessors.

Born into a prominent family, Aga Khan V is the second of four children of Aga Khan IV. His upbringing and education have prepared him for the responsibilities that come with his title, emphasizing the importance of service and leadership within the Isma'ili community.
