Agis II

Agis II, born in four hundred seventy BC, was a prominent figure in Spartan history, serving as the eighteenth Eurypontid king of Sparta. He was the eldest son of Archidamus II, born from his first marriage, and shared a familial bond with his half-brother, Agesilaus II.

During his reign, Agis II co-monarchically ruled alongside Pausanias, another significant leader of the Agiad line. This partnership was crucial in navigating the complexities of Spartan politics and warfare during a tumultuous period.
