Aguri Suzuki, born on September eighth, nineteen sixty, is a distinguished Japanese former racing driver and motorsport executive. His career in Formula One spanned from nineteen eighty-eight to nineteen ninety-five, during which he participated in eighty-eight Grands Prix. Suzuki made history by becoming the first Asian driver to secure a podium finish, achieving a remarkable third place at the nineteen ninety Japanese Grand Prix.

Before his notable Formula One career, Suzuki clinched the Japanese Formula 3000 Championship title in nineteen eighty-eight. His versatility as a driver was further demonstrated when he finished third overall at the prestigious twenty-four hours of Le Mans in nineteen ninety-eight. Additionally, he enjoyed success in the All-Japan GT Championship, where he celebrated several race victories.

Transitioning from driver to team owner, Suzuki founded the Autobacs Racing Team Aguri (ARTA) in nineteen ninety-seven, in collaboration with Autobacs. Under his leadership, ARTA has made significant strides in the Super GT series, securing championships in both the GT500 and GT300 classes. Furthermore, he established the Super Aguri F1 team, which competed in Formula One from two thousand six to two thousand eight, and later formed Team Aguri, which participated in Formula E from two thousand fourteen to two thousand sixteen.
