Aharon Barak

He served as the President of the Supreme Court of Israel from nineteen ninety-five to two thousand six, following a notable tenure as a Justice of the Supreme Court from nineteen seventy-eight to nineteen ninety-five. His legal career began as the Attorney General of Israel from nineteen seventy-five to nineteen seventy-eight, where he laid the groundwork for his future judicial contributions.

Born in Lithuania, Barak's early life was marked by the harrowing experiences of the Holocaust. In nineteen forty-seven, he and his family immigrated to Mandatory Palestine, where he pursued his education at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He earned his Bachelor of Laws in nineteen fifty-eight, followed by a period of service in the Israeli military from nineteen fifty-eight to nineteen sixty.
