Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Ahmed Hafnaoui

Ahmed Hafnaoui, born on December fourth, two thousand two, is a prominent Tunisian swimmer known for his remarkable achievements in freestyle events. He holds the African record in both the long course and short course for the 400-metre and 1500-metre freestyle, showcasing his versatility and endurance in the pool.

Hafnaoui gained international recognition during the 2020 Summer Olympics, where he made history by winning a gold medal in the men's 400-metre freestyle. Despite being the slowest qualifier for the final, he stunned the world with a time of three minutes and forty-three point thirty-six seconds, becoming the only Tunisian to secure Olympic gold at Tokyo 2020.

His journey in competitive swimming began at a young age, as he finished eighth in the final of the 400 m freestyle at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires. Competing as a sixteen-year-old at the 2018 World Championships (SC), he participated in the 400 meters and 1500 meters but did not advance to the finals in either event. By 2021, he was ranked third in the men's 400 meter freestyle by FINA, highlighting his rapid ascent in the sport.

At the age of twenty, Hafnaoui continued to excel, competing at the 2023 World Championships in Fukuoka, where he clinched gold in both the 800 m and 1500 m freestyle events. His performance in the 1500 m was particularly noteworthy, as he recorded the second-fastest time in history at fourteen minutes and thirty-one point fifty-four seconds.

Despite his successes, Hafnaoui is currently facing a twenty-one month competition ban due to an anti-doping rule violation after missing three tests within a twelve-month period. This ban is set to expire in January twenty-six.
