Ahmed Mohamed Mohamoud

Ahmed Mohamed Mohamoud, affectionately known as Silanyo, was born on June first, nineteen thirty-eight. He emerged as a prominent figure in Somaliland's political landscape, serving as the President from two thousand ten to two thousand seventeen. His leadership marked a significant period in the region's quest for stability and recognition.

Before ascending to the presidency, Silanyo was deeply involved in the political fabric of the former Somali Republic and later the Somali Democratic Republic. His political journey began in the 1980s when he took on the role of Chairman of the Somali National Movement, a pivotal organization during a tumultuous era in Somali history.

In addition to his leadership roles, Silanyo held several key positions within the government, including Minister of Commerce of the Somali Republic.
