Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Ahmed Shafik

Ahmed Shafik, born on November twenty-fifth, nineteen forty-one, is a notable Egyptian politician and former presidential candidate. His career began in the military, where he excelled as a fighter pilot and rose through the ranks to become the Commander of the Egyptian Air Force from nineteen ninety-six to two thousand two, achieving the rank of air marshal.

In two thousand two, Shafik transitioned to a governmental role as Minister of Civil Aviation, a position he held until two thousand eleven. His political journey took a significant turn when he was appointed Prime Minister of Egypt on January twenty-ninth, two thousand eleven, in the wake of the Egyptian Revolution. This appointment made him the last prime minister under President Hosni Mubarak's administration.

Shafik's tenure as prime minister was brief, lasting only until March third, two thousand eleven, when he resigned following a heated confrontation on a talk show with prominent novelist Alaa Al Aswany, who criticized him for being associated with the Mubarak regime. Despite the challenges he faced, Shafik remained a significant figure in Egyptian politics.

In the subsequent presidential elections of two thousand twelve, he narrowly lost to Mohamed Morsi, the candidate from the Freedom and Justice Party, securing forty-eight point twenty-seven percent of the vote compared to Morsi's fifty-one point seventy-three percent. His political career continues to be a subject of interest and discussion in Egypt.
