Ahmet Davutoğlu

Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Ahmet Davutoğlu

Ahmet Davutoğlu, born on February twenty-sixth, nineteen fifty-nine, is a prominent Turkish academic, politician, and former diplomat. He served as the twenty-sixth Prime Minister of Turkey and the Leader of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) from two thousand fourteen to two thousand sixteen. His political journey began as the Minister of Foreign Affairs from two thousand nine to two thousand fourteen, and he was a chief advisor to Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan from two thousand three to two thousand nine.

In the two thousand eleven general election, Davutoğlu was elected as an AKP Member of Parliament for Konya and was subsequently reelected in both the June and November two thousand fifteen elections. Following Erdoğan's election as the twelfth President of Turkey, Davutoğlu was unanimously elected as the AKP leader and succeeded Erdoğan as Prime Minister, forming the sixty-second Government of the Turkish Republic. His cabinet was largely composed of Erdoğan's close allies, leading to speculation about his approach to governance.

During his tenure, the AKP lost its parliamentary majority in the June two thousand fifteen general election but remained the largest party. After unsuccessful coalition negotiations, Davutoğlu formed Turkey's first-ever interim election government, which oversaw snap elections in November two thousand fifteen, resulting in a landslide victory for the AKP and the formation of his third government.

However, tensions between Davutoğlu and Erdoğan escalated over disagreements regarding candidate lists and government policies, culminating in his resignation as AKP leader and Prime Minister in May two thousand sixteen. His administration faced significant challenges, including escalating conflict with the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and the ongoing political strife with the Gülen Movement, alongside the impacts of the Syrian Civil War and the European migrant crisis.

In September two thousand nineteen, Davutoğlu resigned from the AKP, citing its inability to address Turkey's challenges. He launched the Future Party on December twelfth, two thousand nineteen, becoming its first leader and positioning the party within the Nation Alliance, opposing the AKP and Erdoğan.
