Aida Hadžialić, born on January twenty-first, nineteen eighty-seven, is a prominent Bosnian-born Swedish politician affiliated with the Social Democrats. She has made significant contributions to Swedish politics, notably serving as the Minister for Upper Secondary School, Adult Education and Training from October third, two thousand fourteen, until her resignation on August fifteenth, two thousand sixteen. Before her ministerial role, she was the deputy mayor of Halmstad, Halland, from two thousand ten to two thousand fourteen.
In addition to her political career, Hadžialić has been recognized for her leadership abilities, often being voted one of Sweden's most talented young leaders. She holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Lund and began her studies at the Stockholm School of Economics in two thousand fourteen, shortly before joining the government.
On October eighteenth, two thousand twenty-two, she took on the role of President of the Stockholm County Council, further solidifying her influence in Swedish politics. Hadžialić is also an international baccalaureate alumna and is fluent in Swedish, English, and Bosnian.
Her resignation as a minister came after an incident in Copenhagen where she was found to be driving just above the legal alcohol limit on the Swedish side of the Øresund Bridge. Despite this, she was within legal limits on the Danish side, where the threshold is higher. Currently, she runs a consultancy firm specializing in global affairs, Nordic West Office, which she co-founded with notable figures such as Jorma Ollila and Risto E.J. Penttilä. Additionally, she serves as an advisor to the BMW Foundation.
