Ajahn Brahmavaṃso, widely known as Ajahn Brahm, is a distinguished British-born Buddhist monk, born Peter Betts on August seventh, nineteen fifty-one. His journey into monastic life began in nineteen seventy-four when he was ordained, marking the start of a profound commitment to the teachings of Buddhism.
Training under the revered Ajahn Chah, Ajahn Brahm immersed himself in the Thai Forest Tradition of Theravada Buddhism. This rigorous training shaped his understanding and practice, allowing him to develop a unique approach to meditation and mindfulness that resonates with many.
Currently, Ajahn Brahm serves as the abbot of Bodhinyana Monastery located in Serpentine, Western Australia. His leadership extends beyond the monastery, as he is also an adviser and patron to various Buddhist organizations across Australia, Singapore, and the United Kingdom, fostering a global community of practitioners.
