Ajay Banga

Ajay Banga, born on November tenth, nineteen fifty-nine, is a distinguished Indian-American business executive currently serving as the president of the World Bank Group since May three, twenty twenty-three. His extensive career includes a notable tenure as the executive chairman of Mastercard, where he held the position of president and chief executive officer from July two thousand ten until December thirty-first, twenty twenty. After retiring from Mastercard on December thirty-first, twenty twenty-one, he took on the role of vice chairman at General Atlantic.

Prior to his nomination to the World Bank, Banga held significant leadership roles, including chairman of Exor, an investment holding company based in the Netherlands and controlled by the Italian Agnelli Family. He also chaired the public-private Partnership for Central America, collaborating closely with U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris.
